How does my code become a TechBrick?
Once your application has been approved you will have received and accepted our proposal and we will 'in the process'. The next stage will be to make a TechBrick from your product.
We will work with you asking you to describe things like installation schedules, dependencies and project management requirements. This metadata is stored along with the installation details of all other TechBricks - allowing us to work out installation plans for multiple TechBricks without any heavy lifting.
Any necessary customisation for integration with other TechBricks will be built in at this point. We'll also start to position your TechBrick in the portfolio creating a web page and developing the value proposition that will help us market and sell your product. You will also have to make sure that your code is up the highest standards. We will be lending your code our hard won reputation, so we need to know it won't cause problems 5 years down the line.
Don't worry too much, at this point you will be a TechBank shareholder so our code auditors will be looking to improve your code and will explain any changes they think are necessary. We like to think that there is a certain amount of mentoring at this stage as you get the benefit of all the other collaborators experience.
The final step is to test the whole set and make sure that every on the team is happy that this new TechBrick can fit into the rest of the bricks in the TechBank family. There may be a few extra tweaks needed but eventually your code can sit along side all the others. Ready to improve the working lives and business potential of clients all over the UK and beyond.
